Perrish Cox visits Washington, Browns could be on radar

The Perrish Cox market is starting to heat up, with a visit planned to Washington. We break down the latest at the position.

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

We have our first specific Perrish Cox rumors. Ian Rapoport reported Cox is expected to visit with Washington tomorrow. Matt Barrows followed that up by reporting the Cleveland Browns have interest in him. This all comes after a report earlier today that Cox did not expect to re-sign with the San Francisco 49ers.

The top end of the cornerback market has quickly been established. Byron Maxwell reportedly received a 6-year, $60 million deal from the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, there are reports Darrelle Revis has signed a 5-year, $70 million deal with $40 million in guaranteed money. Earlier in the day, Brandon Flowers got a 4-year, $36 million deal, and Kareem Jackson got a 4-year, $34 million deal.

Cox won't get anywhere near those deals, but it helps shake things out as we move further down the position rankings. I think Chris Culliver ends up with more money, but he has not gotten a lot of mentions thus far. The only Cully rumor thus far is that the Minnesota Vikings are interested. I could see both Cully and Cox signing later in the week after this first rush of moves.
