49ers roster: 90-man roster following first week of NFL free agency

The San Francisco 49ers got busy in free agency over the weekend, signing three outside free agents, and re-signing one of their own free agents. The 49ers announced the signing of cornerback Shareece Wright, and the re-signing of cornerback Chris Cook. The team is also reported to have signed running back Reggie Bush and offensive lineman Erik Pears. The 49ers will announce those two moves once the paperwork has been processed by the NFL.

Since we have a week of free agency under our belt, and there has been plenty of action, now seemed as good a time as any to put together a new look at the 49ers full roster. The team can sign 90 players to the roster, and as of now, they have 74 either under contract, or close to under contract.

I included the two exclusive rights free agents, Michael Wilhoite and Tony-Jerod-Eddie. The 49ers tendered both of them, which means they remain under team control. I also still have Justin Smith on the roster, since we don't know his status yet.

The team has seven free agents that are unsigned, with Michael Crabtree the most notable. The team will likely sign at least one or two more free agents, but they will likely be under the radar. They might end up waiting until after June 1, when unrestricted free agents no longer count against the comp pick formula.
