The NFL will vote on numerous rule proposals this week, including those related to extra points. There was one proposal that would move the extra point back to the 15-yard line, and I thought I saw somewhere a suggestion of moving it up to the 1-yard line. Whatever happens, it seems clear the NFL wants changes to the rule.
And then there was this tweet from ESPN's Trey Wingo Monday morning.
One coach to me at NFL Owners meetings...looks like we're getting rid of extra points

Wingo never followed up on this, so it could mean a few things. The NFL could just decide to give the team the extra point automatically or not include the seventh point. It is also possible the coach thinks moving it back to the 15-yard line means "getting rid of extra points". I really have no idea, but I suppose we'll get a better handle on it before this week is finished.
