49ers pre-draft visit tracker: Maryland wide receiver Stefon Diggs coming to town

The San Francisco 49ers are bringing a wide receiver prospect to Santa Clara for a visit. Does Stefon Diffs make sense?

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco 49ers continue their search for long-term wide receiver options, as they will bring in Maryland wide receiver Stefon Diggs for an official pre-draft visit, according to Aaron Wilson. Diggs decided to forego his senior season for the 2015 NFL Draft.

Diggs finished his junior season with 62 receptions for 792 yards and five touchdowns. He missed two games with a lacerated kidney, but was still named second-team All Big 10. He finished his Maryland career with 150 receptions, 2,227 yards and 14 touchdowns. He had 54 receptions as a freshman, but a broken leg cut short his sophomore season.

I've posted a handful of scouting reports below. Just from what I've gotten my hands on, he sounds like a potential day two pick. His best work has come in the slot and outside when he has some space, and strength does not appear to be high on the list of positives for Diggs.
