49ers meet with RB Keon Williams at UT-Chattanooga Pro Day

The San Francisco 49ers met with a running back on Monday at Tennessee-Chattanooga's Pro Day. We take a brief look at him.

The San Francisco 49ers were on hand at the Tennessee-Chattanooga Pro Day on Monday, and according to Draft Diamonds, the team met with running back Keon Williams. The running back weighed in at 238 pounds, ran a 4.58 40, put up 23 reps in the bench press, had a 33 1/2 vertical leap, and a 10-foot broad jump.

There is not a lot in terms of scouting reports, but you can check out this interesting feature about his development on and off the field. He has made some mistakes, and academic struggles appear to be the reason he ended up at Chattanooga. Nonetheless, he is the kind of player the 49ers could decide to make a UDFA offer to come May when the NFL Draft wraps up. The 49ers will need to add some bodies at the running back position, even if Frank Gore returns.

The 49ers were one of at least 22 teams in attendance for the Pro Day. From all the reports, the big showing was due in large part to linebacker Davis Tull. He is listed as an outside linebacker, although ESPN's scouting report suggests 4-3 OLB. There is no indication of interest from the 49ers, but if they were, one option might be moving him to inside linebacker.
