The San Francisco 49ers might be getting a little closer to signing defensive tackle Darnell Dockett. A report out of Arizona indicates the 49ers are going to make Dockett an offer, and he passed a physical.
Hearing the #Niners are closing in on Darnell Dockett, going to make him offer, passed his physical, per source.

A contract offer does not tell us enough, but having him take a physical is certainly a step in the right direction. Of course, given that he is coming off a torn ACL last August, it makes sense that he would take a physical.
The question now is if the 49ers offer is enough to get Dockett to sign. According to Jurecki, 49ers players are lobbying Dockett to come to the Bay Area. Potentially more interesting is the fact that Dockett removed a reference to the Arizona Cardinals in his Twitter bio. It is only a social media account, but given how active he is on Twitter, that's kind of intriguing.
Hopefully we hear something before the end of the night, but if not, I'd imagine we'll find out tomorrow.
