Golden Nuggets: Jed York can't seem to shake his "Win with class" comments

Saturday, March 7, 2015 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of 49ers links from around the web.

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning everyone. It is no secret that Jed York has taken a beating in the media and with the fans this off season. But one comment he made stands out and continues to haunt him and by extension, the team, months later. In the wake of Jim Harbaugh's "mutual departure" from the team, Jed York was trying to spin the good press his way by subtly demonizing his former coach. "Win with class" is a line he will never live down because any time the 49ers ever sign or even get linked with a player with any kind of rap sheet, guess what the first comments on twitter will be? "Win with class."

For as bad a rap as the NBA (undeservedly) gets for being a league of "questionable character," the NFL holds that title without a doubt in American sports. It would be very hard if not impossible to build a championship contending team that was full of nothing but top class guys. I certainly understand the feelings of frustration fans have with Jed, but I don't know what the ideal end game is for those tarring and feathering him. Let's be real, he isn't selling the team and he isn't giving up control. I am sure by this time he regrets saying what he did and it is probably in our best interests as fans to just move on. To the links!
