Patrick Willis social media post appears to announce retirement

It would appear Patrick Willis has made his retirement announcement. He posted the statement below to his whosay.com page. He has been frequently posting spiritual and reflective comments to whosay.com the last couple months, so it is sort of fitting that he would use it to wrap this all up.

There is no word yet if he will have any sort of press conference, or address the media in any way. Given what appears to be the reasoning for his retirement, I would be surprised if there was a lot of pomp and circumstance. He will not head off to do whatever it is he needs to do at this next stage of his life. It is disappointing we will not get to see him on Sundays, but I respect that he recognizes a greater calling in his life. I wish him nothing but the best.
