The San Francisco 49ers defensive line has a lot of short term options, but question marks as they look to the future. It remains to be seen how they will address the position in the draft, but they are visiting with some big dudes. The 49ers are one of six teams that have an official visit planned with Florida State defensive lineman Eddie Goldman, according to Matt Miller and others.
Goldman is a monster of a man, standing 6'4 and weighing 336 pounds. As a high end prospect of that size, it is no surprise that scouting reports point to his run defense as a huge strength. Of course, if anybody can coach up Goldman, it would be a Jim Tomsula led team. If the 49ers were interested in Goldman come April 30, it seems like they could potentially move down a few spots and still get him. His apparently limited pass rush skills would seemingly keep him from climbing too high in the draft, which could benefit the 49ers.
