Good morning folks. Offseason workouts are a thing, but there's not necessarily a ton of San Francisco 49ers news coming out of them. I suppose that's a good thing, once again, given the offseason we've had thus far. I wonder if this past offseason can be regarded as among the worst the franchise has ever seen, and yet, I'm still oddly confident in the 49ers this season.
That's probably a weird thing to say, given I'm a well-known pessimist, but there are several players on this team I really think can make a difference if they take the next step in their development. Obviously, most of it hinges on Colin Kaepernick bouncing back and having a strong season, given his struggles last season. But I really like the signing of Torrey Smith and think that will help a lot.
Anyway, I'm ranting and stalling because there's really not that many new links for ya'll today. Here they are, though:
Kaepernick: Gore will be missed, but others can pick up slack (Maiocco)
Eight months after ACL, 49ers' Kendall Hunter looks ready to roll (Barrows)
49ers hoping for Justin Smith's return, prep for retirement (Gutierrez)
Bowman expected to return to field this month (Maiocco)
Who's the new guy? Colin Kaepernick's offseason work obvious, 49ers teammate says (Barrows)
Colin Kaepernick on rugby star Jarryd Hayne: A phenomenal athlete (Gutierrez)
Vernon Davis: 'I'm here because I want to get better' (Maiocco)
