2015 NFL mock draft database: 49ers picks are all over the place

We've got an update to the NN mock draft database. Arik Armstead remains the most frequently selected player, but there is a lot of diversity of picks.

The 2015 NFL Draft is a little over two weeks away, which means some draft plans are rounding into shape. Jameis Winston seems all but certain to go No. 1 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Dante Fowler is frequently connected to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Marcus Mariota could very well end up going No. 2, although we don't necessarily know which team will be doing the honors.

As for the San Francisco 49ers? Well, a mountain of rumors leave us with no more clarity today than three months ago. At times we saw people focusing in on wide receiver, or cornerback, or defensive line. Now, our latest update to the 2015 NN 49ers mock draft database shows a little more balance. Defensive line and cornerback are the most frequently selected, but we are seeing a decent mix of other positions. This time around, wide receiver, edge rushers, running backs and offensive line are all mixed in.

As we look to April 30, what do you make of that first round pick? From those positions listed, if I were to rank them in my own personal order of likelihood, I'd go with something like:

1. Defensive line
2. Wide receiver
3. Edge rusher
4. Offensive line
5. Running back

I would not be completely shocked by a running back, but that is only because I don't think there is anything Trent Baalke could do that would completely shock me (Baalke: "Challenge accepted!"). I would be surprised by the pick, but it would not be 100 percent out of the blue. I suppose picking a quarterback might be the only move that would completely catch me off guard. Anything else that would leave you stunned?
