Michael Crabtree is officially an Oakland Raider. Six years after he probably should have been drafted by Oakland, he signs a one year deal with them. The Niners will now have to go to the draft to pick a receiver to go along with Torrey Smith and Anquan Boldin.
In most people's eyes, there are 5 players in this year's draft at the WR position that could be drafted in the 1st round. After the combine, analysts have Kevin White, Amari Cooper, and Davante Parker most likely going in the top 10. That would leave the Niners in the running for the 2 next best receivers. Jaleen Strong and Dorial-Green Beckham have the ability to be great receivers. DGB in particular could be the best receiver in this draft. But his off the field issues could scare teams from drafting him. At 6 foot 5 and 235 pounds, DGB is a beast at the receiver position. He is a tremendous target for a quarterback to go along with his tremendous speed for his size. But his issues could cause him to fall into the 2nd round.
Jaleen Strong also possesses great size at the receiver position. With a background in basketball, he also shows ability to shield defenders to make catches. He showed good speed, but he doesn't show great separation from defenders with his speed. I'm torn on which player the team should take if they have the choice at pick #15. I would lean towards Jaleen only because they need a more surefire pick. DGB has too many issues. He is the biggest risk-reward pick in this draft, but at #15 the Niners need a player they can count on to be available. I'm not too confident in that pick. I hope the Niners staff is more confident in who they pick.
