San Francisco 49ers general manager Trent Baalke generally is not one to give away a lot of details. On Friday, in his Q&A with the beat writers, he actually provided some fairly specific information for once.
#49ers GM Trent Baalke on what he looks for in CB: "What we're trying to stay away from is 5-8 guys, 5-9 guys."

Moving these kinds of shorter cornerbacks down the draft bard are not going to have a huge impact. The handful of 5'9 and shorter cornerbacks include:
Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, Oregon - 5'9 1/8
Senquez Golson, Mississippi - 5'8 5/8
Quandre Diggs, Texas - 5'9 1/8
Kevin White, TCU - 5'9 1/8
Bobby McCain, Memphis - 5'9 1/2
Bryce Callahan, Rice - 5'9 1/8
Baalke was apparently high on Dontae Johnson, Kenneth Acker and Keith Reaser, and of course made the veteran comparison of Shareece Wright to Carlos Rogers. He also said the 49ers were encouraged by Jimmie Ward's rehab from his broken foot. None of this is surprising, but it also does not remove cornerback from the draft equation. I don't think the 49ers go first round at cornerback, but maybe they'll surprise me.
