Trent Baalke's favorite time of year is finally upon us. The yearly NFL Draft is the event that Trent circles on his calendar, waiting for the time to show us how he runs the show. He wheels and deals like a mad man, trading draft picks for more draft picks and picking players that are unable to play for the current season. No one knows how Trent will pick. He usually drafts very well unless it is a wideout.
It is common knowledge the positions the Niners are looking to draft are WR, CB, and both lines. But there are few other positions that could use some help and Trent Baalke will probably want to add some depth to them. The positions I think could use some help are QB and TE.
The Niners can't go with Blaine Gabbert as the only backup. Trent obviously has a plan and with Kap having a down season last year, I'm sure he's looking at a QB in a later round just in case. A backup plan is needed in this league. As far as TE, none of the ones last year played very well. If Vernon does turn it around, I still don't trust the backups to produce because I have yet to see it. The NFL Draft is Trent's show and we will be sitting and watching in delight.
