We are one day away from the 2015 NFL Draft, which means pre-draft analysis is almost finished. Mike Mayock is wrapping up his own pre-draft content with his final position rankings. This marks the fifth set of rankings. You can view the rest here: version 1.0, version 2.0, version 3.0, version 4.0.
Down below, I have posted rankings from some of the various positions of note for the San Francisco 49ers. They include all five of his updates, to help provide some context as to where he has moved players over the last three months. Mayock also conducted a conference call last week, and you can read the full transcript HERE.
This fifth set of rankings came 11 days after his fourth set. Pro Days wrapped up during that time, and I am guessing Mayock got some more film review in. He does not provide reasons for the various changes he made, so I am hoping it is simply a matter of watching more film. I suppose he might have learned something injury-related or otherwise, but we are left to speculate.
The most interesting changes see Dorial Green-Beckham drop out of the wide receiver rankings, and some shuffling in the defensive line rankings. One thing I want to do after the draft wraps up is take a look at who is drafted where compared to these top five positional rankings. Differences do not mean we know that Mayock is wrong, but it will provide some context on how the league views these players.
