Golden Nuggets: 49ers continue to add LB depth in wake of retirings

Saturday, April 4, 2015 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of 49ers links from around the web.

Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning everyone. When I sat down to write this, I went to my link feed and was bombarded with eight straight "49ers sign Nick Bellore" links and there was no way I was contributing further to that monstrosity so here we are. I have to admit, I had never heard of Nick Bellore before now. He was an undrafted free agent who has spent the last three seasons on the Jets special teams unit. From everything I can tell, he was good at it so he should at least have a fighting chance to make the team. It may have been a Harbaugh thing, but guys like Blake Costanzo and Bubba Ventrone always seemed to make the roster. He should be in competition with Desmond Bishop, Nick Moody, Shayne Skov, and any draft picks.

It looks like the Raiders are looking at Michael Crabtree and in other news, the guys who practice at my local park have also expressed interest. No seriously, I went out and asked them, they said yes. The Raiders always seemed like a probable landing spot for Crabtree given their propensity to snatch up unwanted 49ers on the rebound. But given his history of producing, even if he was always obnoxious in the process, I would not mind resigning him at the right price. But should this be the end, at least no more seasons can end in heartbreaking fashion on a Crabtree fade route. To the links!
