Golden Nuggets: Another Golden Voice Passes On

Monday, April 6, 2015 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of 49ers links from around the web.

Not much direct 49ers team news today. We do mourn the passing of Lon Simmons, a long time Bay Area great in the broadcast booth. He voiced the 49ers run to Super Bowl XXIII and made the now famous call on Steve Young's amazing QB run.

On the former 49ers front, Michael Crabtree finally has a contract offer, which looks like he has not accepted. It's kind of mind-boggling considering he has no other offer to negotiate against. Apparently, Michael has still not accepted that his value has diminished somewhat.
