The first day of the 2015 NFL Draft is in the books and the San Francisco 49ers came away from it with an extra fourth-round pick this year, an extra fifth-round pick in 2015 and former Oregon defensive lineman Arik Armstead. So naturally, the course of action is for EVERYBODY HERE TO PANIC IMMEDIATELY AHHHHHHHHHH!
Alright ... I just needed to get that out of my system. I was covering the NFL Draft for the SB Nation mothership -- by the way, did you check our super sexy draft results page -- but I did manage to spare five to 10 seconds to think critically about the selection and honestly ... I'm fine with it. Armstead is kind of an unsexy draft pick in that we all heard about him heading to San Francisco for the past few months but he's a talented guy with a lot of upside.
I'll elaborate further in a grades post later on in the day. The 49ers also announced their alternate uniforms yesterday and while some people don't like them, they're definitely growing on me. I think they need some more gold, of course, but I may just buy one of those jerseys. Given the way this offseason has gone I might wind up getting a classic player on the alternate, though.
Here's your links for the day and, as always -- go Niners.
