The 2015 NFL Draft is officially entering the die-hard portion. Day three kicks off at 9 a.m. PT with rounds four through seven set going down today. There are 157 picks to get through today, with teams getting five minutes per pick in rounds three through six, and four minutes in round seven and all compensatory picks.
A year ago, the final day last seven hours and four minutes. We'll see what today brings. And even after the 157 picks of day three are complete, we also begin the mad free-for-all that is undrafted free agency. There will be news almost immediately after the wrap of the draft, with undrafted players scrambling to find jobs, and teams trying to figure out who has agreed to sign with them and only them!
The San Francisco 49ers have a lot of picks today, with seven total, including three in the fourth round and two in the seventh round. The 49ers added depth the first two days, but they still have needs as we perceive them. They have not added a wide receiver, cornerback, inside linebacker or offensive lineman. I expect one of most of those positions on day three, but Trent Baalke has proven he will zag when we expect a zig.
We'll have a new thread for the 49ers pick, and potentially even earlier than that if insanity breaks out otherwise. For now though, we'll wait and see what happens. Below is a feed from @ninersnation where I'll be posting plenty of info. And as with yesterday, site decorum is off for the weekend.
