The folks at SiriusXM NFL Radio are putting together a rundown of rankings for each position group by division, and earlier this week they got to the offensive lines. The tweet above features rankings by Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan, who have a regular show on the radio.
The 49ers offensive line is a big question because of absences and turnover. Mike Iupati departed for Arizona in free agency, and Brandon Thomas is the guy most people want to see earn that job. Anthony Davis and Alex Boone are both working out on their own during the voluntary portion of the offseason workout program. All indications are that they will be on hand for the mandatory minicamp and training camp, but as with everything, we will wait until we actually see them in camp.
Like much of the 49ers this year, it is hard to slot them anywhere in particular in comparison to other teams. For the purposes of this, I think it is fair to keep them down just due to the inconclusive nature of the position group. The Rams are a group that has a lot of question marks as well, but Jeff Fisher thinks he finally has the guys he needs. We'll see if that gets him up beyond the perpetual mediocrity we have seen in St. Louis.
Here is a rundown of the tentative starting lineups for each offensive line. Plenty can change with some of the rookies involved. Thoughts on how the rankings above look?
