Golden Nuggets: The Ray McDonald meltdown continues

Thursday, May 28, 2015 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of 49ers links from around the web.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning everyone. Former 49er Ray McDonald continued his downhill spiral with his second arrest in three days. This time for violating the restraining order placed on him by the woman from the incident a couple days ago. At this point, Ray McDonald is not only looking at jail time, but never again playing in the NFL. No team is going to sign him any time soon, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the league go ahead and make him ineligible.

After the incident a couple days ago I saw people suggesting the league should punish the Bears for signing McDonald. While the Bears certainly look bad, punishing them for signing a player eligible to play in the NFL is ridiculous. It is the league's responsibility to make these decisions.

In some more negative 49ers related news, Colin Kaepernick has been dealing with some heavy criticism over his Instagram post about the Houston flooding. Lets just call it what it is, an incredibly stupid and insensitive thing to post. Normally, I would never suggest than anyone stay off social media because I strongly believe that famous people should not have everything they say be held under a microscope. But with Colin, I honestly don't see what he could possibly enjoy about it. Everything he posts gets mercilessly attacked by fans of his own team. He favorites a lot of them for motivation and even responds to some of the more stupid. Social media is supposed to be fun and at a some point, enough has to be enough right? To the links...
