Good morning folks. Last night, I was thinking about what to expect out of the mouths of Jed York and Trent Baalke next season -- whether the 49ers are winning or losing. Obviously, things are a lot less interesting from a statement perspective if the 49ers are winning. They'll congratulate themselves and we'll be plenty happy because hey, winning is awesome.
But if the 49ers struggle out of the gate, do we see them dial it back? Will we see York openly criticize Jim Tomsula like he did to Jim Harbaugh, or was that just a tactic to push Harbaugh away? Will Baalke stick to his line about reloading and not rebuilding, which would also put more pressure on Tomsula?
Obviously, these are massive hypothetical questions and if we're being completely honest, I thought of them while thinking to myself "gee, I need to think of something mildly interesting to discuss in the Nuggets tonight, haven't I?" Still ... seeing how an organization that is so adamant its sustained no missteps over the past few months responds to even more trouble is intriguing in a really dark kind of way.
