77 days to 49ers kickoff: Who wore it best? Who wears it now?

The San Francisco 49ers season starts in 77 days. We take a look at jersey No. 77. We look at a large man from the 80s for this one!

The San Francisco 49ers kick off the 2015 NFL regular season on Monday Night Football, on September 14. That game is now a mere 77 days away from kicking off their 2015 regular season. In the spirit of that approaching date, I thought I would steal this idea from our Oakland Raiders site.

Who wore it best: OL Bubba Paris (1983-1990)

How could we not go with this behemoth from the glory yearS? There was a strong argument to be made for offensive lineman Bruce Bosley, who played center and guard in the 50s and 60s. He earned four Pro Bowl nods, and was an all around solid lineman. Paris lasted less time, but did some great things with those 80s 49ers teams. And just for a little something extra, both his daughters now play in the WNBA!

Who wears it now: OL Trenton Brown (2015-present)

The 49ers drafted Brown in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL Draft, and he is already on the radar for many fans. Brown filled in at right tackle while Anthony Davis was away from the offseason workout program. Once Davis announced his retirement, Erik Pears moved from right guard to right tackle, and Marcus Martin got in work at right guard.

There is no word on Brown's status on the depth chart, but odds are pretty good he will not be starting at right tackle come Week 1. Whether or not it ends up being Alex Boone, the 49ers seem likely to go with a veteran presence at the position. However, the team's willingness to get Brown first string practice reps, even if it was just in shorts, bodes well for his future. Alex Boone hits free agency next year, potentially opening the door for another opportunity. Brown could be right in the thick of it.
