Good morning everyone, things sure were quiet yesterday, weren't they? I was working an NFL shift on the SB Nation news desk and over the course of the eight hours I wrote about tennis, the X Games in Austin and the upcoming Belmont Stakes, but not a single NFL piece. Fortunately, things are pretty quiet for the San Francisco 49ers and though it might be a tired statement at this point, I'm real glad of that at this point in the offseason.
I was pretty bummed to see that rookie first-round pick Arik Armstead won't be able to take part in any organized team activities given the stupid rules for players who have yet to graduate. It's not as though he actually has anything he has to do he just ... can't join the 49ers right now. For a guy that's so raw and who wasn't likely to contribute much already, it's pretty important he gets as much time early on as possible, given there will be less time for him in training camp as the 49ers concentrate on building their depth chart.
