Golden Nuggets: A Dose of Optimism

Lately I've been seeing photos of superheroes again on my Facebook timeline from people who want to break up the cycle of bad news. Darnell Dockett seems to think that 49ers fans need a little shot of positivity too. Someone I'm very positive about this upcoming season is Carlos Hyde. He's a hard worker who has succeeded at every level. He showed some great explosiveness last year as Gore's backup and has a knack for breaking tackles just like Marshawn Lynch.

With the stable of running backs Trent Baalke has brought in, it looks as though the carries will be spread around a little bit. I have a feeling though that once Hyde gets the ball consistently his production will encourage the 49ers coaching staff to continue feeding him the ball. He looks like one of those backs who thrive on carries and contact. I'd like to see him get upwards of 300 carries and 1200 yards and be a fixture in the offense for the next 5 years or so.

He definitely has the talent, the desire, and hopefully the health to get it done. A solid running attack will definitely be a good foundation for a much upgraded offense this season and should free up Colin Kaepernick and his receivers to be a greater threat this season.
