The San Francisco 49ers first day of minicamp is in the books, and we've got a handful of media reports. I've posted links to them below, and thought I would pull out a few items of note. The media training camp reports will be a bit more extensive, in large part because they are able to develop more context by multiple practices. I imagine we'll start to see it as this week progresses. Watching a one-off practice is interesting, but not of much value without other practices to compare.
Rookie wide receiver shining
The name on everybody's lips was DeAndrew White. The rookie wide receiver received praise in five of the six reports, in particular for his work high pointing a throw from Colin Kaepernick. I would not be surprised to see one of these rookies earn a roster spot, and right now White is high on the list.
Aldon Smith minor toe injury
Someone apparently stepped on Aldon Smith's toe, which cost him a sizable chunk of practice. All indications are that it was not a serious issue. I'd imagine we see Smith back at practice tomorrow, but we'll see. Aaron Lynch remains out with his hamstring injury, so this meant more work for Corey Lemonier and Eli Harold.
Offensive line depth chart
For this first practice, Alex Boone worked at left guard with the second team. Brandon Thomas was the second team right guard, while Marcus Martin got first team right guard work. Joe Looney played center on the first team. I thought Chris Biderman made a good point about the Thomas and Martin work.
Most logical reason, IMO, for Thomas and Martin to be working at RG would be the 49ers bracing for Boone's pending move to RT. Still early..

Keith Reaser showing things
I've heard nothing but positive comments about Reaser all offseason, and they continue through the first day of minicamp. Jimmie Ward has said he expects to be back for training camp, but in the meantime, Reaser is doing serious work to climb the depth chart. Reaser has been playing outside and then serving as the first team nickel back. With Ward, Tramaine Brock, and Shareece Wright not participating on Tuesday, Reaser is further boosting his case.
