Good morning folks. We had a bit of a slow news day yesterday, as far as the San Francisco 49ers are concerned, and that's because the team didn't opt to use any picks in the NFL Supplemental Draft. Or maybe they did or intended to, but the player they wanted wasn't available. I said before I thought the only player that had a chance of being drafted by the 49ers was Clemson offensive tackle Isaiah Battle and I'm a little disappointed they didn't land him. It also sounds like the 49ers were, in fact, interested in him.

But the St. Louis Rams took Battle with a fifth-round pick, which is where I would have been fine taking him, personally. He's got his off-field concerns and some on-field concerns but I did like his potential. Whatever the case, he joins 60 or 70 other rookie offensive linemen currently packed into the Rams locker room. It will be interesting to see if he can turn that opportunity into anything significant.
