Good morning everyone. Training camp isn't here yet, or so I'm told. This is unfortunate, as I planned to sleep until the start of the regular season but the damned alarm keeps going off and my bosses keep telling me that I can't just hibernate for a few months for some reason. There's really nothing interesting happening right now, especially considering the San Francisco 49ers.
There's another piece on Evan Mathis and the 49ers' potential interest in him ... though I'd be surprised if Mathis is really on their radar. I'm really unsure how I'd feel if the 49ers did go ahead and make him an offer. He's a good player, even a great player, but the 49ers really don't need that kind of injury history on the team with the battles that are set to take place. It helps that I have confidence in at least two of the four guys competing for left guard and center.
