Good morning, Faithful. Jed York made headlines today for making a comparison between the way the Warriors hired Steve Kerr after firing Mark Jackson, to the way the 49ers hired Tomsula after "mutually parting ways" with Harbaugh. To no surprise, he is getting killed for it by the likes of ESPN, and Tim Kawakami -- just to name a few. Whether or not this ends up being an accurate comparison in the long run, will this put more unnecessary pressure on Tomsula?
On one hand, no one is expecting anything from the 49ers due to the horrific offseason the team has endured. However, York has said from the beginning that the expectations are to win the Super Bowl, and now he just prematurely put Tomsula in the same category as a championship winning coach from the same city. While I see how one could make the connection, I still think it is just asking for more negative perception.
York has already done enough this offseason to put himself in a negative light, but he seems to not learn from his mistakes.
