Colin Kaepernick comes into this season looking to redeem himself from a subpar season last year. While he was one of a few things that was wrong with the team, being the quarterback for an NFL team gets him more blame. He shoulders more responsibility as the most important position on the field. So the offensive struggles falls on him.
A couple of links today talked about Colin's struggles in the 4th quarter last season. He was the 1st quarterback in 2 decades to not throw a touchdown in the 4th quarter for a whole season while throwing a 100 passes. He was 0-118. That is a pretty telling statistic. We have seen Colin play well in 4th quarters. He has 8 game winning drives in his 39 start career.
His performance in the last quarter will be crucial this season. But it isn't all on Colin. The offense as a whole didn't play well last season. They will have to play much better as a unit. If Colin is able to find the ability to play well in the 4th quarter, the Niners could make some noise this season.
