Golden Nuggets: 49ers injury report

Wednesday, July 29th, 2015 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from the Internet

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

The Niners training camp starts this Saturday, August 1st. With that date approaching, the Niners announce 5 players have been placed on injury lists to start camp. Carlos Hyde, Aaron Lynch, DeAndre Smelter, and Trent Brown were placed on the non-football injury list. Daniel Kilgore was placed on the physically unable to perform list.

Carlos Hyde, who should be the team's starting running back, apparently has a muscle pull and Tomsula doesn't want to take a risk with it. It makes sense to let it heal fully before having him practice. Hyde will be a big part of this team and we don't need him to take unnecessary risks to his health. Aaron Lynch, who is suffering from a hamstring injury, will miss the start of training camp for the 2nd time in his 2 year career.

Two notable players who appear ready to participate on day 1 of training camp are Jimmie Ward and Darnell Dockett. Both will probably play significant minutes this season and need to be healthy. Both suffered injuries last season, but it seems that they will be given the go ahead to join the team Saturday.
