Each of the last few seasons, the 49ers have had players such as Blake Costanzo, Kassim Osgood, and Bubba Ventrone who have served mainly as special teams aces. However, now that none of these players are currently on the roster, who will be the next player to fill that role? We have seen flashes from players such as Nick Moody, but no one else stands out as the same type of consistent disrupter that we have been accustomed to seeing.

It seems that Nick Bellore was brought in to try to fill that exact role. Over the last two seasons, Nick Bellore has been near the top of the league in special teams tackles, and finished third in 2013 with 17 tackles. With the addition of Pinion, the 49ers have already made a point to try and improve special teams. With the signing of Bellore, the 49ers hope to improve in an area that we have seen can be the difference in close games.

Every year it seems that there are games that are decided by pivotal plays on special teams, and hopefully Bellore can help the Niners be on the right side of a few of those this season.
