Anthony Davis still tweeting about a return in 2016, Jim Tomsula happy for him

Anthony Davis continues to discuss his potential return in 2016, now suggesting he will be the best right tackle in the league when he returns. We'll see what the next year brings.

The chatter keeps on coming from Anthony Davis. The semi-sort of former offensive tackle for the San Francisco 49ers tweeted on Monday that he planned on coming back to the NFL in 2016. When he first announced his retirement, he had indicated it would be for a year or so. Now, he is doubling down on that. He sent out these tweets today.

On Tuesday, Jim Tomsula was asked about Davis's comments about returning. Tomsula said he was excited to hear Davis might be coming back, and it "makes you feel good things are going in the right direction for him."

It remains to be seen how this whole comeback will play out, but Davis is confident about his potential return. He remains under contract to the 49ers for five more years, so if he returns next season, the 49ers would have him under contract through the 2020 season. The team can still go after prorated signing bonus money, but given his comments about returning, I wonder if they wait and see how this all plays out?
