NaVorro Bowman, other 49ers players psyched for first game day

NaVorro Bowman and others are tweeting about the San Francisco 49ers preseason opener. I don't know if Bowman will play in Saturday's game against the Houston Texans, but he seems pretty excited.

The San Francisco 49ers are in Houston and ready to get the 2015 season started. The team faces the Texans in their preseason opener, kicking off at 5 p.m. PT. The 49ers traveled to Houston on Friday, and are likely on their way to the stadium as this article publishes.

Numerous players on the team are active on social media, so it is not surprising they are tweeting out excitement for the game. There are a few tweets already, and the tweet by NaVorro Bowman might be the most intriguing. At the beginning of the week, Jim Tomsula said Bowman would likely play on Saturday, but do not hold him to that. On Thursday, Tomsula said Bowman might play, but if he did it would only be for a small package of plays. Later that day, Bowman said a decision had not been made, but if he did play, he did not want it to be for only two or three plays.

This morning, Bowman tweeted this out:

"The time" could just be referencing the start of the preseason. But maybe it means we see him on the field. The Texans have had some issues with their turf, so given Bowman's knee recovery, he might decide to hold off. And it is possible he might want his first game to be in front of the home fans.

My guess is that Bowman does not play in Houston, but maybe he surprises us.
