Evan Mathis rumors: Visit scheduled with Seahawks, but guard might not go

The NFC West has a host of offensive line issues, with all four teams dealing with one problem or another. It should surprise nobody then that free agent guard Evan Mathis is taking a visit out west. Adam Schefter is reporting the Seattle Seahawks are scheduled to host Mathis on Saturday. It is interesting that Mathis is not sure if he will go for the visit. I would assume that means he might sign elsewhere sooner rather than later. We'll keep an eye out for it, but Seattle certainly could use some guard help.

There is still no word on if the San Francisco 49ers have any further interest in Mathis. John Clayton connected the 49ers to Mathis back in mid-June, but nothing has been mentioned since. The 49ers have been playing Alex Boone and Marcus Martin at guard, Joe Looney at center and Erik Pears at right tackle. Brandon Thomas might still end up in the starting lineup, but whatever the case, it seems unlikely that Mathis ends up with the 49ers.
