Golden Nuggets: Another Tight End Traded Away

Saturday, August 22nd, 2015 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Good Morning, Faithful. For the second time in a week, the 49ers have traded a tight end to a team on the east coast. This time it was Derek Carrier being traded to the Washington Redskins for a 5th round pick. There have been many rumors over the past week connecting the 49ers to the Redskins because of the Redskin's recent injuries at the position, and not all of the speculation has come true.

Based on recent reports, the tight end group has been performing extremely well, with Vance McDonald having his best camp yet. The decision to trade Carrier seems to back these reports up. Now the question is, how many tight ends will the 49ers keep on the roster at the end of training camp? Davis, Bell, and McDonald seem to be locks now, so if the team goes with 4, the question is will Celek or Busta Anderson get the last spot.

I guess we will be getting some answers soon enough. It will be interesting to see what type of playing time they get in over the next two games.
