Mike Purcell intercepts pass, returns for a touchdown...seriously!

It has been a fun day so far for the San Francisco 49ers, and we might have just seen the best part of it! San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Mike Purcell went to bat down a Dustin Vaughan pass, but managed to come down with an interception. He then turned on the jets and ran it in for the touchdown, giving the 49ers a 13-0 lead over the Dallas Cowboys.

An interception return for a touchdown is certainly not going to lock up a roster spot, but Purcell is having a great start to the preseason. He had several big stops last week, and has built on it this week. Tony Jerod-Eddie was viewed as one of the likely reserve defensive tackles, but Purcell's performance through the first two games might be enough to get him onto the roster. Even if he did not manage to secure a roster spot, he'd be a lock to get claimed off waivers.

Here is a second view of the interception, from behind the Cowboys offense. You can see Purcell just as he's about to make his move following the interception
