How awesome was it to see NaVorro Bowman out there in game action playing at a high level? He was limited to only a few snaps but his impact was highly visible on the field both physically and inspirationally. Obviously he has to sustain this level for an entire game and for the 17 or so weeks it takes to play an entire NFL season. If the fans experienced raised adrenaline levels just watching him, I can only imagine the impact it had on the rest of the team. Hopefully he will stay healthy all year, because it is just beautiful to see him running around that football field.
Speaking of running around, both Jarryd Hayne and Mike Purcell have shined in pre-season. They are knocking really hard on that 53-man roster door, and it would be great if they continue this level of play into the games that count on the standings. Purcell has been all over the place and getting good results from his exhibition snaps.
I have to admit that Hayne looks quite unorthodox out there in his movements, but so far it has proved to be an advantage for him. He's looked quite elusive on returns. What this means for Bruce Ellington's playing time, we will have to see, but depth and healthy roster competition is always a plus for any team. 3 weeks to go till the season starts!
