Well, so much for easing Michael Wilhoite back into the picture. The same day he was activated from the NFI list, Wilhoite got in practice reps with the 49ers first team defense. He spoke with the media after, and according to media tweets, he plans on playing this Saturday against the Denver Broncos.
Jim Tomsula had inferred on Monday that the team would slowly work him back based on what the coaches and trainers felt was best. Apparently he is good to go. We'll find out more practice details later today, but even with limited or no contact, it says something that Wilhoite was back in the mix next to NaVorro Bowman.
Chris Biderman posted a few other depth chart details involving Kenneth Acker and Ian Silberman:
Changes to the #49ers first team at today's practice: Acker RCB, Wilhoite ILB, Silberman RG, Martin C.

Keith Reaser got the first team cornerback snaps opposite Tramaine Brock last week, with Acker coming on in the nickel defense. Tomsula said the team would mix up the combinations this week, and it appears to be happening. I officially have no idea who will start opposite Brock when Week 1 arrives.
Tomsula had also said the starting offensive line was not yet set. We had seen the same starters through the first few weeks, but on Tuesday that got changed up a bit. Ian Silberman has gotten a lot of different work on the line, including center and guard. Brandon Thomas was working second team left guard. Joe Looney and Marcus Martin have seemed to be the likely starting center and right guard, but again, nothing seems firmly locked in place at this point.
