Fooch's update: We'll use this as an open thread for Sunday's two games.
The third full week of 2015 NFL preseason action gets underway Friday evening, August 28, as we wait for the San Francisco 49ers Saturday game agains the Denver Broncos. Friday is a fairly low key evening of football, but we get three games with interesting talent, and one national broadcast.
The Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars are the national game, airing on CBS at 5 p.m. PT. The Lions have their big trio of Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate, but also have the rookie Ameer Abdullah to entertain and amaze us. The Jaguars are still trying to build toward something, but they have some really interesting pieces on offense with Blake Bortles, Allen Robinson and T.J. Yeldon. The Carolina Panthers host the New England Patriots at 4:30 p.m. PT, while the Kansas City Chiefs host the Tennessee Titans.
The 49ers enter the second half of their preseason schedule with a chance to show what they can do against the potentially impressive offense and defense of the Broncos. The 49ers and Broncos conducted two joint practices this week, and will wrap it up with their game on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. PT.
Until the 49ers take field, here's a thread to enjoy Friday's game, as well as some of the early Saturday action. I've posted broadcast information below, as well as a complete slate of matchups through the weekend.
