Fooch's update: We'll use this as an open thread for the game.
Holy crap, football's back! Well, sort of. Sunday brings with it the 2015 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game. The Hall enshrined their 2015 class on Saturday, and the weekend wraps up with the traditional Hall of Fame Game. This year, it pits the Minnesota Vikings against the Pittsburgh Steelers on NBC at 5 p.m. PT. We'll get to start things off with Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth from the booth.
The upside to the Hall of Fame Game is that we get to see some real football. The downside is it is the first preseason game for two teams that only have a couple weeks of camp under their belt. Both teams will likely keep things fairly vanilla, and Pittsburgh has already indicated they will be resting a lot of their starters. Ben Roethlisberger, Le'Veon Bell, Antonio Brown and Heath Miller are all expected to sit out the game. It sounds like Landry Jones could play the whole game for Pittsburgh.
On Minnesota's side of things, there is no word yet on if Adrian Peterson will play. If he does, I can't imagine him going more than a series or two. Of course, given his absence last season, he might need some extra reps to get back in the swing of things.
This game also gets us that much closer to the San Francisco preseason opener. The team will take the field this Saturday against the Houston Texans. That means we are officially entering a "game week" tomorrow!
