Nick Moody signing with Seahawks, per Ryan Sakamoto

It's cliche Friday, as the have now seen two former linebackers sign with rivals.

Fooch's update, 9:31 a.m. 9/12: Per Matt Maiocco, Moody is signing with the Seahawks practice squad.

This is turning into a fun Friday! Less than an hour after we learned that Aldon Smith has agreed to a 1-year deal with the Oakland Raiders, we have more fun news involving former linebackers and rivals. NinerFans.com founder Ryan Sakamoto is reporting former San Francisco 49ers linebacker Nick Moody is headed up to Seattle to sign a contract with the Seahawks.

Moody has been visiting around the NFL looking for work since the 49ers released him last week. He visited with the New York Giants, then the Seattle Seahawks, and recently wrapped up a visit with the Kansas City Chiefs. However, Sakomoto is reporting he is headed back to Seattle to finalize a deal. Sakomoto has developed some relationships with a few of the players, so I'd say this seems likely to happen.

It really has been quite the day of cliches, and it's not even lunch time yet. The Raiders are not the crazy team of the past, but I think plenty still agree it is cliched that Smith ends up there. And while Moody was not exactly a high impact player for the 49ers, it is still plenty cliched he ends up in Seattle. The 49ers have lost quite a few players to the Seahawks, but they have always been guys a bit further down the depth chart. Guys like B.J. Daniels, Will Tukuafu, Ricardo Lockett and Demarcus Dobbs are not exactly big names, but they all ended up in the Emerald City. So it is kind of fitting Moody joins them up there.
