Aldon Smith active for Raiders in Week 1

The Oakland Raiders will see two former members of the San Francisco 49ers debut on Sunday. Aldon Smith is active after signing on Friday, and Michael Crabtree will start at wide receiver.

We're back for the afternoon slate of games, and it appears Aldon Smith will indeed be getting some playing time in Week 1. The former San Francsico 49ers outside linebacker signed a one-year deal with the Oakland Raiders on Friday, and the league is not using the Commissioner's Exempt list while his legal issues remain unresolved. And so, we get to see Smith and Michael Crabtree make their debuts for the Raiders.

That Raiders-Bengals game is one of several potentially interesting games Sunday afternoon. The Cardinals host the Saints in a big game for an Arizona team looking to compete with the Seahawks in the NFC West. The Bucs host the Titans in an opener featuring the top two picks of the 2015 NFL draft. Add in Ravens-Broncos and Lions-Chargers, and it should be a fun afternoon.

We'll be back with some wrap-up content after the afternoon games, and then a Sunday Night Football open thread.
