The San Francisco 49ers are kicking off their 2015 season later tonight, but in the meantime, there is an early Monday Night Football game. The league has instituted an MNF double-header in recent years, and this year we get it again. The doubleheader opens with the Atlanta Falcons hosting the Philadelphia Eagles.
The game gets going extra early, with kickoff time scheduled for 3:55 p.m. PT. The game will be on ESPN, with the 49ers-Vikings game starting up after that. If Eagles-Falcons game goes long, the 49ers kickoff will be delayed. If Eagles-Falcons is going too long, I believe 49ers-Vikings would start on ESPNNews before switching over to regular ESPN. I'm working to confirm this information. For Bay Area viewers, the game should also simulcast on CBS.
In the meantime, Eagles-Falcons should provide a nice appetizer. We get to see the debut of Sam Bradford in the Chip Kelly offense. If Bradford can stay healthy, he can be a dangerous quarterback. The problem is he rarely stays healthy. We'll see how long this lasts.
