NFL picks against the spread, Week 2: SuperContest picks, all picks

The San Francisco 49ers are 5.5-point underdogs against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2. The line came down a point, but SF remains an underdog. Time for my second LVH SuperContest picks, as well as my picks for the remaining games.

We're back for another round of NFL picks against the spread! Week 2 did not get off to a great start for me, as I had the Kansas City Chiefs covering a field goal spread against the Denver Broncos. Thankfully, they were not one of my SuperContest picks, and I did not otherwise put any money on them. C.J. Anderson remains a problem for me from a fantasy perspective, but what are you gonna do?

For the second straight season, I am back for the LVH SuperContest. SB Nation's partners over at Odds Shark are sponsoring my entry again. The contest requires selecting 5 games each week and picking them against the spread. This year's contest is expected to have nearly 1,400 participants, including myself, Matt Ufford and Eric Sollenberger from SB Nation. Everybody picks their own five games and there will be a running leaderboard HERE. You can follow my standings under the name "Fooch".

Last year, I finished 39-45-1. This year, I actually got off to a nice Week 1 start. I was 4-1, getting covers from the Rams, Cardinals, Broncos and 49ers. I went 10-5-1 overall ATS with my picks, which is one of the better weeks in a long time. I'm not holding my breath for success in either manner this week. It is not a pretty week of games. I've seen some interesting matchups, but I'm just not totally sold on a lot of them

Here are my SuperContest picks for Week 2

Patriots (-1) over BILLS
BROWNS (+1) over Titans
Rams (-3.5) over WASHINGTON
Cowboys (+5.5) over EAGLES
PACKERS (-3.5) over Seahawks

Last week I went entirely home teams, with three underdogs and two favorites. This week, I just was not feeling a lot of the home teams. I was seriously tempted by the 49ers at -5.5, but that game is just a tough one to figure out. The numbers say the 49ers should lose that game in pretty easy fashion. On the one hand, I pondered going for the reverse jinx, on the other hand, I do think they can win the game. Or at least, I hope they can!

The Browns pick was a tough one because they looked pretty abysmal last week. The Titans looked great behind Marcus Mariota, and they may very well be legit. I'm using this pick to say, how about we wait and see? Beating the Browns would not exactly make the Titans legit, but given the way this line swung, it would be an interesting one.

That Packers pick is based in part on figuring Eddie Lacy could do some serious damage against the Kam Chancellor-less Seahawks. I'm mostly betting on that with that pick.

Here are all my picks for Week 2:
