Golden Nuggets: Starting O-Line Announced

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from the Internet

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

On Tuesday, Jim Tomsula announced the starting offensive line for the season opening game against the Minnesota Vikings. The team will start Joe Staley, Alex Boone, Marcus Martin, Jordan Devey, and Erik Pears. Jim Tomsula had a lot to look at since the offensive line has been playing poorly. Hopefully, this lineup will provide some protection for Colin Kaepernick while also opening up some lanes for the stable of running backs.

Also on Tuesday, Tomsula refuted reports that Jarryd Hayne had made the final 53 man roster. While Hayne has performed exceptionally well this preseason as a returner and running back, it's a little early to say that he is safe. His spot looks safer with the team having a look at Reggie Bush returning kicks and looking a little rusty.

NaVorro Bowman has been playing very well this preseason coming back from his year out of the game. On Saturday, he played 42 snaps and he said his knee responded well. His biggest test comes Week, 1 where he will play a full game rather than just a half. In other injury news, Tomsula said Darnell Dockett does not have a cracked rib. It apparently is a "cartilage thing". According to Tomsula, should Dockett make the roster, he would be available to play Week 1.
