Fanduel prices for 49ers-Cardinals in Week 3

We take a look at FanDuel prices for 49ers in Week 3, as well as my lineup for this weekend. Join our FanDuel league!

The San Francisco 49ers got worked last week, but if you were bold enough to start Kaepernick, Boldin or Smith you at least got great fantasy production from them. Week 3 brings a trip to the Arizona where the red birds are off to a great start with one of the best offenses in the league. Here are a quick look at a few of the most relevant fantasy players and their price tag this week:

Colin Kaepernick: $7900 (Up $100)

Colin was a great play last week if you had the marbles to roll with him. This week he faces the Cardinals and with their potent offense. It very likely the 49ers find themselves in catch up mode early once again and that proved great for Kaep last week. However, at $7,900 I think I'd rather roster Cam Newton against the Saints for the same price or Philip Rivers for $200 less.

Hyde:  $7800 (Up $800)

Welcome back to earth, Carlos. We hope your visit is a short one. Hyde didn't live up to the price tag in week 2 as the Steelers were able to keep him in check with such sophisticated tactics as using their helmets to test the integrity of his planted leg. He'll find it easier to move the ball this week and if you have your sights set on a top 10 RB his price is one of the more attractive "bargains" this week.

Anquan Boldin: $6600 (Up $200)

Had "Q" held on to a few passes he would have turned in a monster game last week. I think another 10 targets is very doable against the Cardinals. Their secondary is good, but not great. There are a ton of options in the mid $6000 range at WR. He'll end up on one of my lineups this week, but I'm also tempted by that devil Jeremy Maclin ($100 cheaper).

Torrey Smith: $6400 (Up $500)

Well, that was encouraging. Smith seems to be settling into his new digs and he'll probably see a few deep shots this week in Arizona. If he turns in another good game I'll start considering him for lineups in week 4, but this week there are safer options in his price range with equal upside.

Vernon Davis: $5400 (Up $300)

Predicting a good game from a tight end that isn't Rob Gronkowski is a game unto itself. Vernon is fairly priced at $5400, but it's a tough decision with the likes of Delanie Walker and Kyle Rudolph going for cheaper. I still think Arizona might be vulnerable to strong TE play so I can see myself rostering Davis on a few cards this week.

Reggie Bush: $5300 (No Change)

Even if he plays his role is still a mystery. No need to get too risky.

Ellington: $4500 (No Change)

Averaging a target a game thus far and his role on special teams is always a question.

D/ST: $4300 (No Change)

The 49ers find themselves on the road again against a one of the best offenses in the league. Look elsewhere for your defense this week.

Dawson: $4600 (Down $400)

There are only 6 kickers cheaper than Dawson this week and the 49ers have moved the ball well enough to get in his range...and that is usually where they sputter out. I like that combination.

Cardinals I Like

Carson Palmer $8100

As you can see from my FanDuel lineup below, I'm not counting on the 49ers to resolve their issues in the secondary. Palmer is a statue, but that statue is only behind Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger in total fantasy points for QB's.

John Brown $6000

He's my favorite $6000 or under play this week with honorable mentions to Donte Moncrief and former 49er Steve Johnson. I'm not sure if he is quicker than Antonio Brown, but he should have enough juice to make things difficult against Tremaine Brock and Co.

Here is the squad I'm putting out there this week in the Niners Nation FanDuel league. Let me know what you think and I'm always looking for a good Head-to-Head challenge.
