Shareece Wright seeking trade or release, per Ian Rapoport

The San Francisco 49ers have an unhappy cornerback in Shareece Wright. Oh well.

I'm pretty sure this is the least surprising thing you will learn today. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting San Francisco 49ers cornerback Shareece Wright is seeking a trade or release. I don't think there is a single person on the planet who saw his Sunday tweet that is surprised this is coming to light. In case you missed it, here is the tweet he posted 10 minutes before inactives were announced, and subsequently deleted.

I'd love to see what exactly a not particularly good cornerback can get via trade. He was starting opposite Tramaine Brock to open training camp, but before too long, it was apparent the 49ers were ready to move on from him as a starting option. Kenneth Acker, Keith Reaser and Dontae Johnson all got a lot of work, and Acker emerged as the starter. Wright has been inactive each of the first three games, and his displeasure became clear on Sunday.

I would not be at all surprised to see him released in the near future. If the 49ers get into any injury issues with their current starters, they've got Keith Reaser on the bench, and Marcus Cromartie on the practice squad. Wright has not been a particularly good cornerback in his career, so I don't see why they would give the veteran some preference.
