NFL power rankings, Week 4: Taking a step back to re-assess 49ers

Week 3 of the 2015 NFL season is a wrap, and the 49ers do not look too good. We present Week 3 NFL power rankings!

The NFL wrapped up Week 3 of the 2015 season on Monday, with the Green Bay Packers handling their business against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Packers had little trouble with the Chiefs, and remain tied with six other teams at 3-0. I'm back with another round of NFL power rankings, and my top five remains the same. The Oakland Raiders and New York Giants get the biggest bumps of the week, while our San Francisco 49ers are the biggest drop.

It's safe to say that right now, this 49ers squad is not good. They might figure some things out and make some adjustments, but for the time being, they kind of stink. The question is how bad they are right now compared to other teams. The Chicago Bears are looking particularly bad, and have begun trading off veterans. The New Orleans Saints could get Drew Brees back this week, coming off a week in which they had a chance to upset the Carolina Panthers.

The 49ers have their work cut out for them in a big way. We'll continue to find out what makes this team tick in the coming weeks. My guess is things are going to get worse before they get better, but I've been wrong before. For now though, this team has played badly enough the last two weeks that I am comfortable dropping them way down the rankings. The five teams behind them are really the only teams bad enough that I feel comfortable saying, yes, they seem worse than the 49ers.
