Our friends at Bovada.lv are back with a variety of betting odds to get us ready for the 2015 season. Yesterday, we took a look at their over/under numbers for quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Today, we are back to look at their thoughts on two of his top targets, Anquan Boldin and Torrey Smith.
The duo played together in Baltimore in 2011 and 2012, before Boldin departed for the 49ers. In 2011, Boldin had 57 receptions, 887 yards and three touchdowns, while Smith had 50 receptions for 841 yards and seven touchdowns. In 2012, Boldin led the team with 65 receptions for 921 yards and four touchdowns, while Smith had 49 receptions for 855 yards and eight touchdowns.
In both seasons, Ray Rice was in the mix, finishing first in receptions in 2011 and second in 2012. Additionally, their tight end was heavily in the mix, with Ed Dickson fourth in 2011, and Dennis Pitta third in 2012. This year, the 49ers have Carlos Hyde and Reggie Bush as primary options in the passing game, and of course Vernon Davis.
I think we see Smith leading the team in yards per catch, but I imagine Boldin finishes with the most receptions. I think the most interesting one will be Reggie Bush. He can be a significant factor in the passing game, and if he remains healthy, I could see him surpassing 50 receptions on the season.
